By Easter 2024 - Taster Day invitations

Invitations to Taster Day

We will invite all students whose predicted grades indicate they are likely to meet our entry criteria to our Sixth Form Taster Day.

The invitations are sent by email.

All students whose predicted grades indicate they are unlikely to meet our entry criteria will be emailed to inform them of that and to advise they continue to look for alternative post-16 options.

Monday 24 June 2024 - Taster Day

Sixth Form Taster Day

A brilliant opportunity to sample a 'day in the life of a Sixth Form student' and to have a go at a lesson for each of your chosen subjects.

Invitations for students who appear likely to meet the entry criteria will have been previously emailed to you.  Please check your spam/junk folder.

Summer 2024

Enrolment tasks

All students wishing to attend our Sixth Form must complete enrolment tasks.  There is one which all students have to complete, without which students cannot attend in September.  Some subjects set specific tasks which need to be completed before students can attend lessons for that subject.

22 August 2024 - Enrolment Day

Enrolment Day

On 21 August 2024 (the day before GCSE results are issued) we will email you an enrolment form.

On 22 August 2024, after receiving your GCSE results, all students who have previously completed the application form (see above), who meet our entry criteria, and wish to take up a place in our Sixth Form must complete the enrolment form.

Once your GCSE results have been checked to ensure they meet our entry criteria, we will begin offering places in our Sixth Form in line with our Sixth Form Admissions Policy.

At this point, if you have registered details with us but ultimately choose not to join us, any information we have regarding your application will be destroyed in line with our Data Protection policy.

Application Information

Entry Requirements

Our minimum entrance requirements are five GCSEs at Grade 4-9 including English Language and Maths (a GCSE equivalent qualification will be considered on a case by case basis).

However, many of our subjects have specific criteria, please see the Sixth Form Courses Admissions Criteria 2024 at the bottom of this page for full details.

Please familiarise yourself with our subjects available for Sept 2024 by going to our 'Subjects Offered' page.

Subject Blocking

Please see the subject blocks for A-Level study starting in September 2024. Students must choose one subject from each of three blocks. No more than one subject can be picked from each block as those subjects will be taught at the same time. If a student would like to study a fourth A-Level, that is a conversation that can be requested after GCSE results have been received.

Allocation of Places and Over-Subscription

Places in our Sixth Form will be allocated according to the criteria outlined in our Admissions Policy.

Please be aware that we have a maximum number of students we are able to offer places to, and cannot exceed this.

Places will not be offered to students who do not meet our general and subject-specific entry criteria.

Oversubscription

In the event that there are more students wishing to join our Sixth Form than we have places for, and/or more students wishing to join a particular subject than we can accommodate, we will allocate places according to the oversubscription criteria in our Sixth Form Admissions Policy.
