By Easter 2024 - Taster Day invitations

Invitations to Taster Day

We will invite all students whose predicted grades indicate they are likely to meet our entry criteria to our Sixth Form Taster Day.

The invitations are sent by email.

All students whose predicted grades indicate they are unlikely to meet our entry criteria will be emailed to inform them of that and to advise they continue to look for alternative post-16 options.

Monday 24 June 2024 - Taster Day

Sixth Form Taster Day

A brilliant opportunity to sample a 'day in the life of a Sixth Form student' and to have a go at a lesson for each of your chosen subjects.

Invitations for students who appear likely to meet the entry criteria will have been previously emailed to you.  Please check your spam/junk folder.

Summer 2024

Enrolment tasks

All students wishing to attend our Sixth Form must complete enrolment tasks.  There is one which all students have to complete, without which students cannot attend in September.  Some subjects set specific tasks which need to be completed before students can attend lessons for that subject.

22 August 2024 - Enrolment Day

Enrolment Day

On 21 August 2024 (the day before GCSE results are issued) we will email you an enrolment form.

On 22 August 2023, after receiving your GCSE results, all students who have previously completed the application form (see above), who meet our entry criteria, and wish to take up a place in our Sixth Form must complete the enrolment form.

Once your GCSE results have been checked to ensure they meet our entry criteria, you will be formally offered a place in our Sixth Form.

At this point, if you have registered details with us but ultimately choose not to join us, any information we have regarding your application will be destroyed in line with our Data Protection policy.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements:

Our minimum entrance requirements are five GCSEs at Grade 4-9 including English Language and Maths (GCSE equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case by case basis). However, many of our subjects have specific criteria, please see the Sixth Form Courses Admissions Criteria 2024 at the bottom of this page for full details.

Please familiarise yourself with our subjects available for Sept 2024 by going to our 'Subjects Offered' page.

Subject-specific entry requirements

Many of our subjects have specific criteria, please see the Sixth Form Courses Admissions Criteria 2024 at the bottom of this page for full details.

Subject blocking:

.  This means students will have a free choice of over 20 subjects.

We are not using option blocks prior to 2024 applications and will work hard to try to accommodate subject choices. We cannot, however, guarantee that your preferred combination of subjects will fit once we have finalised timetable blocks after applications close. If there is a clash with your preferred subjects, you will be assigned your reserve subject where possible. If we are unable to accommodate any combination of your choices we will contact you to discuss alternatives via email.

Allocation of places and over-subscription

Sixth form places will be allocated to students who:

  • Attain five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
  • Attain the subject-specific grades required for their chosen courses.

Oversubscribed Subject Allocation:

Please see the Sixth Form Admissions Policy for further details.
