Student Absence

For Notification of Student Absence

Call the 24 Hour Student Absence Line: 01789 209 296

Parents must report any absence from school including medical appointments requiring absence, and any Covid related ill health leading to absence, to the student absence line by 9:00 am on each day of absence.

For longer term absence please discuss with the Attendance Officer direct 01789 416621

Please consider carefully the effects of student absence on your child's education. For further information on the importance of attendance and the impact on education please look at our Attendance Information Page.

Please call (do not text) the absence line before 9:00 am on each day of your child’s absence. Reasons for absence must be stated each time. Late arrivals must sign the late book. Failure to do so will affect a student’s attendance records. Should your child need to leave school during the day to attend a medical appointment, please write a note confirming details in the student planner. This will enable the class teacher to release a student to the Attendance Support Room (ASR) to sign out prior to leaving the school site.

Fixed Penalty Notice

In line with Government guidelines and Warwickshire County Council Schools Attendance Policy, a student absent from school due to taking an unauthorised Leave of Absence (holiday) in term time, will be referred to WCC Warwickshire Attendance Service (W.A.S), for the consideration of a £120 fixed penalty notice, per parent, per student.
