Ofsted

The school’s aim is to ‘engage, enthuse and inspire pupils’. Staff have high expectations for what pupils can achieve. Pupils are challenged in their work

Ofsted 2020

It is our pleasure to publish our recent OFSTED inspection report for Stratford upon Avon School. I would urge you to read it in full so that you are aware of the judgements made about just how good our school really is.

We were inspected on 26th- 27th November 2019 by a team of three inspectors. However, as part of their own quality assurance system we were also visited in the first week of January by another two senior inspectors, one of whom was Ofsted’s National Lead for Behaviour and Attendance. I can assure you that this has been a fair, rigorous and rewarding process. On both occasions, inspectors were extremely pleased with the very strong practice they found at the school and it was a genuine pleasure hearing their feedback. Their subsequent report makes for excellent reading and is an accurate reflection of our school. A full copy is attached. It should be published on the Ofsted website towards the end of next week.

Ofsted have made significant changes to the framework under which they inspect schools since September 2019. Their reports are shorter and designed to be more user-friendly. They have put considerable focus on requiring schools to provide a broad and ambitious curriculum to give students the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life. For the first time, there is also a clear national desire to create an inclusive culture within schools. These are key features of our school and it is reassuring to see the national direction of travel align with our ethos.

Everyone at Stratford upon Avon School is committed to ensuring that pupils feel safe, happy and successful. This is achieved very well.
